Since June 23, heavy rains in the Northern midland and mountainous areas, especially Lai Chau Province and Ha Giang Province caused landsides and damages to local people and assets.

The PM has sent his deep condolences to families of the dead people.

To cope with post-flood consequences and mitigate damages caused by natural calamities, the PM asks:

The Provinces’ People’s Committees and relevant ministries and agencies concentrate on searching for missing people, treating the injured and supporting families suffered from floods as well as strengthening  communications and warnings for local people living in dangerous areas and actively evacuating and relocating people to safer places.

The national committee for incident, disaster response, and search and rescue, the Ministries of Defense and Public Security direct search and rescue work.

The Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development and Industry and Trade inspect the operation of dykes and dams.

The Ministry of Transport guides functional agencies to inspect and promptly address landslide incidents, ensure smooth traffic on national highways and assist localities in overcoming the incidents in traffic axes.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment continues close monitoring of floods and regularly updating information on the situations.
