PM chairs Gov’t regular meeting

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung has asked relevant ministers, agencies and localities to strive to achieve set targets so as to create a firm basis for higher growth rates in 2015 and the following years.

PM Dung chaired the Government regular meeting on August 27-28.

At the meeting, PM Dung affirmed that socio-economic situations continue to have positive changes over the past eight months.

The PM asked his cabinet members to seek to tackle difficulties for production, accelerate growth rates in agriculture, industry and services, and realize an economic growth rate of 5.8% for the full year.

He suggested discussing solutions to increase the aggregate demand of the economy, raising credit in accordance with improving the quality of credit, dealing with bad debts, enhancing disbursement of investment capital and anti-counterfeiting and anti-smuggling as well as boosting domestic production.

He stressed on economic restructuring, focusing on public investment, State-owned Enterprises, commercial banks and agriculture.

On administrative reform solutions, the PM required the ministries, agencies and localities to create forces to accelerate production, investment, improve the business environment and increase national competitiveness.

Regarding socio-economic development tasks in 2015, PM Dung asked Government members to come up with measures to achieve a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of around 6-6.2%.
