PM attends VN-Belgium Business Forum

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the Viet Nam-Belgium Business Forum on October 17 as part of his official visit to the European country.

Participants to the event included representatives of 200 Vietnamese and Belgian businesses mainly operating in such fields like healthcare, real estate, green energy, food, port infrastructure development among others.

Speaking at the forum, PM Phuc highlighted the ceaseless growth of bilateral trade and Belgium’s investment in Viet Nam over the past time.

Meanwhile, trade exchanges between Viet Nam and the European Union (EU) have increased by 10 times over the past nearly decade and may reach US$53 billion this year.

The Government chief expressed his belief that the Viet Nam-EU free trade agreement will open up a wide door for the two countries’ businesses to grasp huge cooperation opportunities.

Besides, Viet Nam has also signed or engaged in talks on 15 free trade agreements, which allow Belgian investors in Viet Nam to access to markets beyond the Southeast Asian country.

PM Phuc stressed Viet Nam is making great efforts to improve its business environment to facilitate domestic and foreign investment.

Also at the forum, PM Phuc witnessed the signing ceremony of 4 cooperative documents between Vietnamese businesses and Belgian partners in logistics and information technology areas.

The same day, PM Phuc met with representatives of top businesses of Belgium and the EU./.
