The PM spent nearly three hours to listen and exchange views with delegates attending the event about issues related to laborers.

Stressing positive developments in the nation’s economy in 2018, the PM also referred to concerns about social ethics, corruption and gap between the rich and the poor.

He asked Vietnamese workers, in both the public and private sectors, to raise their sense of discipline in labor, fight corruption and wastefulness, and make ceaseless efforts for common interests.

Workers and laborers must highlight the spirit of respecting the law, enhance renovation at agencies and businesses and make breakthrough in improving the effectiveness of trade union activities and launch actions to catch up with the fourth industrial revolution, he said.

The Government leader required ministries, agencies and businesses to protect the right for laborers.

He affirmed that 950 delegates to the 12th Congress of the VGCL are core nucleuses to inspire workers nationwide to join the program on improving national competitiveness and sustainable development.

Nearly 950 delegates representing over 10 million members of all-level trade unions nationwide gathered for the 12th Congress of the VGCL.

This is a major political event, a big festival of the working class and trade union organizations of Viet Nam which determines important issues related to employees and trade union activities in the next five years.
