PM Dung made the statement at the Government’s January regular meeting on January 30.

Despite effects from the plunge of the world oil price, the growth target of 6.2% and the State budget turnover should be resolutely maintained, PM Dung said.

The Government leader assigned the State Bank to control the inflation at around 5% and seek ways to support businesses, particularly medium- and small-sized businesses.

He asked Cabinet members to continue drastic measures to address businesses’ difficulties, focusing on boosting administrative reforms, improving the business environment, particularly in tax collection, custom, land use, business registration, power access and construction.

He also urged ministers to make strategic breakthroughs to restructure the economy. Accordingly, drastic reforms should be made in State-owned enterprises while innovating credit institutions resolutely, keeping the rate of bad debts below 3% and maintaining stable exchange rates.

Further investment should be made to build more hospitals to ease the overload and respond to people’s demand on high quality health services while further resources for the program on building new-style rural areas should be supplemented, PM Dung added.
