The pilot urban railway in Hanoi City (section from Nhổn to the Hanoi Railway Station) runs 12.7 km long, connecting the city’s western part to the downtown. This is the ever biggest public passenger transport project in Hanoi, with the total investment of VND 10,000 billion. Its investor is the Hanoi Management Board of Public Transport and Subway Development. It is expected that the project is constructed for 63 months and put into operation in October 2010 on the 1000th anniversary of Thăng Long-Hanoi.
