Party leader receives Cambodian People’s Party delegation

VGP - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on March 30 hosted a reception for a delegation from the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), led by a member of the CPP’s Standing Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam On.

The host stressed that the two countries should increase cooperation in information sharing and education and communication on the traditional friendship between the two Parties, states, and peoples.
 
He also called for stronger cooperation in fighting slanderous distortions against the CPP and Viet Nam that could hinder friendship between the two countries.
 
He added that Viet Nam prioritized consolidating friendship and comprehensive cooperation with the CPP and Cambodia.
 
General Secretary Trong thanked the CPP and Cambodian people for their valuable support to Vietnam over the years and wished the Cambodian people a happy New Year in honour of their upcoming traditional New Year festival Chol Chnam Thmay. 
 
For her part, Men Sam An, who is also Cambodian Deputy PM, highlighted the effective cooperation between the CPP and the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) as well as the two countries in recent time, affirming that the CPP, the Cambodian State and people will do their utmost to nurture and strengthen the bilateral relations. 

The Cambodian guest pledged her country will continue to partner with Viet Nam to effectively implement cooperation agreements. 
 
She also congratulated Viet Nam on achievements in its national renewal and construction process, expressing her belief that the country will accelerate its renewal process and reap success in the future under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam. 
 
The same day, Secretary of the Party Central Committee Ngo Van Du also held talks with the Cambodian delegation, during which both sides discussed ways to promote cooperation between the two Parties and countries in the coming years.
 
Both sides also signed a cooperative agreement for the 2015-2016 period.
