Hồ Chí Minh City alone welcomed 2.2 million of tourists. The City expects to raise the figure to 3 million this year.

Singapore, China and Thailand continued to be the biggest markets for Việt Nam, with the growth rates of 21.5%, 21% and 18% respectively.
The National Tourism Administration attributed these good results to the fact that State authorities and tourist companies have proactively introduced Việt Nam’s potentialities on international media as well as held many national cultural festivals to lure visitors, such as the Day for Culture, Sports and Tourism in Lạng Sơn Province, Hội An Ancient Town Night (Quảng Nam), and the Lam Kinh Festival (Thanh Hóa).

To fulfill the target of welcoming 5 million foreign tourists by the year end, the sector will focus on diversifying tourist products, upgrading infrastructure, improving foreign language skills for its staff, and perfecting service quality.
