Number of laborers sent abroad sets record

VGP – More than 140,000 Vietnamese workers were sent abroad in 2018, an increase of 7% against the previous year, according to the representatives of the Department of Overseas Labor of Viet Nam's Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

This is the fifth successive year the number of laborers working overseas exceeding 100,000 ones. 

Especially, in 2018, Japan overcame Taiwan (China) to become the nation receiving the highest number of Vietnamese laborers with more than 67,000 ones, followed by Taiwan (China) with 65,000 ones, the Republic of Korea (RoK) with 6,000 ones, Saudi Arabia, Rumania, Malaysia and Kuwait. 

Based on the report of the labor export association, among 28 markets receiving Vietnamese workers, six recorded the scale of more than 1,000 laborers, including Japan, Taiwan (China), Malaysia, the RoK, Romania and Saudi Arabia. 

The number of laborers working in Taiwan (China) and Japan made up more than 90% of the total.
