Number of foreign arrivals up 8.8%

VGP – The number of foreign arrivals to Viet Nam in the first five months of 2019 witnessed a year-on-year increase of 8.8%, reaching nearly 7.296 million ones, according to the General Statistics Office.

The numbers of foreigners to Viet Nam by air and by road see respective increases of 6.3% and 23.7% while the number of foreign visitors travelling to Viet Nam by road decreases 17.5%.

The numbers of foreign arrivals from Asia are estimated at 5.603 million ones, making up 76.8%, followed by Europe with 1.035 million ones, America with 441,600 ones and Australia (continent) 196,200 ones.
