Jonathan Guthrie, Director of NPA, made the commitment on January 30 during a working visit to the province.

The Vice Chairman of the central province’s People’s Committee, Le Truong Luu, praised NPA’s activities over the past years, saying they had contributed to mitigating bomb and mine risks and created safe production areas for local people.

NPA has provided more than US$1.6 million to help the province reduce bomb and mine risks during the 2012-14 period.

The NPA is an international non-governmental organization operating in the humanitarian bomb and mine field. It is currently carrying out mine and bomb clearance projects in Quang Binh and Thua Thien-Hue provinces.
