The department said the number of Chinese visitors topped the list of foreign tourists to Nha Trang, accounting for more than 1.1 million, up over 230% compared to last year’s corresponding period, followed by Russians at 401,000, an increase of over 173%.

The provincial department noted foreign visitors to Nha Trang are mainly from China and Russia, while there is a downward trend of 10-25% in the numbers of visitors from the U.S., Canada, Australia, the UK, France, and Germany.

Currently, the province has assigned the local Department of Construction to develop a master plan on tourism development by 2025, with orientation through 2025 and regulations on managing travel activities serving international tourists via charter flight service at the Cam Ranh international airport.

The province will also seek for the Government’s recognition of Nha Trang City as a marine ecotourism urban area, and the northern Cam Ranh peninsula tourism zone as a national tourism site.
