New regulations on medical checkup for passengers

VGP – Passengers who enter, leave or transit areas which are vulnerable to epidemics or infectious diseases will be undergone medical checkup of body temperature, clinical diagnosis and tests.

The regulation is stipulated in the Government’s Decree 103/2010/NĐ-CP which directs the implementation of the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases.

Accordingly, people contacted to epidemics or showing signs of getting infectious diseases in Group A will be isolated and treated medically. Necessary measures on decontamination and prevention will be taken.  

The Decree also requires passengers to declare medical information of their imports, exports and transit products which will be unload from means of transport.

Goods will be demolished or re-exported if competent agencies fail to terminate disease agents discovered on them.

The Decree will take effect since December 1, 2010 and replaces Decree 41/1998/NĐ-CP which is dated on June 11, 2008./.
