Netherlands, Japan to finance two projects in HCMC

VNGOP – The PM ratified on December 28 the portfolio "Specialized supports to the Sài Gòn Water Supply Corporation (SAWACO)” funded with €4,236,313 by the Dutch Government and Vitens Evides Internation (Netherlands) in the frame of the Public-Private Partner Program (PPP).

The project is aimed to help SAWACO improve the operation of its waterworks and water supply network, so as to increase water quality and water supply services to the public, especially the poor in Hồ Chí Minh City.

On the same day, Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm agreed that the Ministry of Planning and Investment will ask the Japanese Government to provide six items of equipment worth of US $138,000 to the Project "Capacity Increasing for the Hồ Chí Minh City Polytechnics to Promote Tertiary Educational Collaboration with Local Communities". The Hồ Chí Minh City National University was entrusted to receive and use the equipment under the current stipulations.
