National U23 football team honored at My Dinh Stadium Gala

Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha and over 40,000 football fans attended the event. 

On this occasion, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and State President Tran Dai Quang sent flower baskets to the national U23 squad.

Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien expressed his emotion of the wonderful journey of the national U23 squad at the Asian championship. 

In response, captain Luong Xuan Truong said that “I can’t describe my feelings at the present. From our first step at the airport until here, we are congratulated by tens of thousands of supporters. Thank you, we will never forget this moment.”

The Gala took place actively with interesting performances of famous singers and fans. 

The young team made an incredible  journey at this AFC U23 championship in China. From a team that were considered the underdogs, they took home the silver medal from the biennial tournament./.
