National COVID-19 patient tally surpasses 46,000

VGP - The Ministry of Health announced 2,106 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday morning, raising the national caseload to 46,292.

The number of daily new COVID-19 cases from July 1 to 6:00 am on July 17.

The latest patients include a 49-year old woman who entered Viet Nam via Vinh Xuong international border gate in the southern province of An Giang on June 24.

All the others are domestic infections in HCMC (1,769), Binh Duong (124), Dong Nai (43), Vinh Long (42), Dong Thap (41), Ben Tre (34), Khanh Hoa (22), Binh Phuoc (7), Soc Trang (6), Can Tho (4), An Giang (3), Ha Noi (2), Bac Ninh (2), Binh Dinh (2), Phu Yen (1), Lam Dong (1), Dak Nong (1) and Gia Lai (1). Of these, 1,680 were uncovered at quarantine camps or lockdown areas.

Among the national patient tally, 44,284 are locally-transmitted cases, including 42,714 documented in 58 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.  

Twelve out of the above localities have gone 14 days without community infection, namely Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Hoa Binh and Bac Kan.

As of late July 16, 4,233,896 vaccine doses were administered, with 298,177 people fully vaccinated./.
