National COVID-19 patient tally crosses 51,000

VGP – There were 3,098 further COVID-19 cases confirmed by the Ministry of Health this morning, raising the national caseload to 51,002.

The latest patients include five Indonesian nationals and 16 Vietnamese returnees, of whom one brought from Uganda, one from Malaysia, one from China one from Indonesia, nine returning to Viet Nam via the Moc Bai international border gate in Tay Ninh province,

All the others are domestic infections in Ho Chi Minh City (2,382), Binh Duong (281), Dong Nai (75), Long An (48), Tay Ninh (42), Ba Ria – Vung Tau (41), Vinh Long (38), Dong Thap (36), Tien Giang (31), Khanh Hoa (29), Ben Tre (17), Phu Yen (16), Can Tho  (12), Kien Giang (10), Ha Noi (9), Binh Dinh (4), Soc Trang (3), An Giang (3), Bac Ninh (1), Dak Nong (1), Bac Giang (1).

Among the national caseload, 48,964 are community infection cases while the rest are imported case.

Of the total domestic cases, 47,394 cases have been recorded in 58 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth COVID-19 wave hit Viet Nam.

Ho Chi Minh City remains the epicenter of the current COVID-19 wave with 28,392 community-transmitted cases, followed by the northern province of Bac Giang (5,701), and Binh Duong (2,580)./.
