NA Standing Committee establishes science council

VGP - The National Assembly Standing Committee for the 2011-2016 tenure on January 3 in Hà Nội set up the Science Council to improve its apparatus and organization.

NA Chairman Nguyễn Sinh Hùng said that the establishment of the council helps to improve the quality of operations of the committee and the legislature.

Mr. Hùng stressed that the council must take the initiative in forecasting and giving consultancy and in-time assistance to the NA in building scientific research programs as well as scientific and practical foundations, with a focus placed on the theoretical foundation for the amendments and supplements to the 1992 Constitution.

The NA Chairman asked the council firstly to complete its organizational structure, build working methods and regulations to effectively promote its operations.

Under the resolution, the NA Standing Committee’s Science Council has 19 members led by NA Vice Chairman Uông Chu Lưu./.
