NA Chairwoman attends Turkey-VN Business &Investment Forum

VGP – National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on October 8 attended the Turkey-Viet Nam Business and Investment Forum in Istanbul, Turkey as part of her official visit to Turkey.

At the event, Ms. Ngan referred to the two-way trade value exceeding US$2 billion in 2017. Turkey is the largest trade partner of Viet Nam in the Middle East. 

As of August 2018, Turkish investors poured US$708.2 million in 18 projects in Viet Nam, ranking 26th among 126 nations and territories. 

Ms. Ngan expected that the two sides’ business communities not only play a crucial role in economic cooperation but also contribute to proposing new initiatives and creating more forces in investment and trade to enhance the relationship between the two nations. 

Viet Nam commits to establishing a favorable business environment for businesses in line with the international standards and the regulations of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). 

At the forum, Chairman of the Turkey-Viet Nam Business Council Ali Tezolmez highlighted the meaning of the event, which has made an important progress in promoting their economic ties, especially on the occasion of the 40th  anniversary of diplomatic ties. 

NA Chairwoman Ngan witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperative agreements between the two sides’ enterprises. 

The event attracted the participation of representatives from 200 businesses of both sides. Delegates listened to cooperative potentials of the two nations, introduction to the initiative of the Investment Fund in Viet Nam as well as exchanged specific cooperative areas of their advantages.
