GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) will promote the training and development of human resources qualified to conduct nuclear safety analysis.

This agreement will enhance the capability of VARANS staff to perform technical assessments and safety evaluations, said GEH Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer David Durham, adding that through this agreement and others his company looks forward to continuing to support the building of Viet Nam’s nuclear power infrastructure.

This is the third MoU the GHE signed in Viet Nam. The two previous MoUs on technology and nuclear technique were inked in September 2014.

Viet Nam is planning to build nuclear power plants with more than 10,000 megawatts by 2030.

GEH is among the world’s leading providers of advanced reactors and nuclear services, according to the company’s website.
