More than 300 Vietnamese citizens in Malaysia fly home safe

VGP – A Viet Nam Airlines flight carrying more than 300 Vietnamese citizens from Malaysia landed at Can Tho International Airport on July 21, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Passengers onboard the flight were children aged below 18, pregnant women, the elderly, visitors stranded in Malaysia due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To ensure safety of the passengers and crew members, precautious measures were implemented during the flight.

After landing at Can Tho International Airport, all the passengers and crew members were medically checked and quarantined as currently regulated.

This is the 59th rescue flight arranged since April 10, bringing home about 14,443 citizens from foreign countries and territories, official data showed.

By Wednesday, Viet Nam has gone 96 consecutive days without recording new COVID-19 community infection case.

Among 396 COVID-19 infection cases, 256 are imported cases, accounting for over 64%, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

Of the patient tally, 365 have been freed of the virus, making up 92%./.
