Passengers arriving at the Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport go past a scanner that checks their body temperature. |
The information was released by Dr. Nguyễn Trần Hiển, Director of the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology in a meeting of the National Steering Committee for Avian Influenza A (H5N1/H1N1) Prevention which was held yesterday.
After experiencing isolation and treatment in two days, most of A/H1N1 patients recovered from fever and showed negative signs of A/H1N1. Tamiflu is widely used for all cases without any drug resistance.
Most of the infected cases in Việt Nam were people coming from other countries or those who had close contact with infected patients.
The MoH is closely working with other relevant ministries, agencies, sectors and localities to keep a close watch on the epidemic so that preventive measures will be timely designed.
The Ministry revealed that 63 A/H1N1 cases have been confirmed in Việt Nam by June 24, after nearly one month when the first case was founded.
