MOH: Field hospital to be establish to stamp out swine flu

VGP – The Ministry of Health (MoH) just promulgated instructions on the establishment of field hospitals to fight against the A/H1N1 swine flu.

Field hospitals help to minimize the cross contamination

Field hospitals are the optimal option to prevent the community spreading and provide on-spot quarantine and treatments, said the MoH.

Grade-I hospitals are established when there are at least 20 people infected with the A/H1N1 virus or in close contacts to the confirmed cases in such public places as schools, factories, and offices.

These hospitals can be closed after 7 days if no new case is reported.

When a large number of people are infected with the virus, grade-II hospitals are founded under decisions of provincial-level leaders and with the agreement of the Minister of Health.

Up to 5.00 PM of August 12, Việt Nam reported 1,275 cases positive to the virus and two deaths. Among them, 916 have been discharged from the hospitals; the remaining 359 are still quarantined and treated in good conditions of health.
