Mr. Huynh urged press agencies to improve their quality, efficiency, leadership, and management to more effectively communicate this year’s important events, contributing to national development.

In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam thanked the journalists and reporters on behalf of the Government for contributing to the effective operation of the Government as well as ensuring defence and security.

Dam expressed his hopes that media outlets would actively help reform the economic management mechanism.

The press should also promote national unity to protect the country’s full sovereignty, assist the Government in building a law-abiding country and fight against corruption and waste, he said.

He also underscore the need for media agencies to effectively and creatively cover the 40th anniversary of the country’s Unification Day, the 125th anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, and Party congresses at all levels.
