Lào Cai assists ethnic minorities’ socio-economic development

VGP – In the time to come, disadvantageous communes in the northern province of Lào Cai’s ethnic minority and mountainous areas will be provided with aid, services and legal assistance to expand production, upgrade infrastructure, improve and raise people’s living standards and legal understanding.

Helping ethnic minorities in economic development is an urgent task
They will enjoy training workshops and courses to better their own knowledge and skills of managing agricultural economy.
They are also provided with crop varieties, animal breeding, input materials, production experience, technical know-how, equipment and machinery to expand production, process and store products.
Inter-hamlet roads, strong drainage systems and anti-landslide works will be built in disadvantageous communes.
Irrigation, water supplies and electric power works will be upgraded or built with the State budget. Moreover, the construction of houses for community activities is also funded by the State.
Poor households or groups of at least five poor households will benefit from the policies.
