Japanese FM on official visit to VN

VGP – Japanese FM Kishida Fumio is now on an official visit to Viet Nam from July 31-August 2, during which he will hold talks with Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh.

He is also expected to pay courtesy calls to State President Truong Tan Sang and PM Nguyen Tan Dung.

In his exclusive interview granted to Tuoitrenews, Minister Fumio said that as a member of the Japan – Viet Nam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance, he has spared no efforts to become a bridge connecting the two countries, contributing to the expansion of the bilateral ties during the past two decades.

He said that the bilateral relations have been gradually strengthened through the regular exchange of visits by the two countries’ high-level leaders. During the March State visit to Japan, State President Truong Tan Sang and PM Shizo Abe agreed to upgrade the bilateral ties to a new level of Extensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia.

FM Kishida Fumio said his trip to Viet Nam aims at enhancing economic links, including agriculture cooperation, people-to-people exchanges among others.
