Japan is VN’s reliable and important strategic partner: Deputy PM

VGP – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that Japan is a reliable and important strategic partner of Viet Nam, during his meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Umeda Kunio on April 26 within the framework of the “Meeting Japan – North Central Region” conference in the central province of Nghe An.

Politburo member Hue expressed his gratitude to the Japanese government and people for their continuous and significant support for the Vietnamese government and people over the past years, asking relevant agencies of both sides to carefully prepare for Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s upcoming visit to Japan and his attendance at the G20 Summit, to be held in Osaka.

Ambassador Umeda Kunio said that under the framework of the “Meeting Japan – North Central Region” conference, Japan’s businesses and organizations had a working session with six provinces in Viet Nam’s North Central region to explore their potential and strengths.

These businesses and organizations will introduce cooperation and investment opportunities in Viet Nam’s north central provinces to Japanese localities and enterprises, he stated. 

The Japanese government is actively calling on its small and medium-sized enterprises to implement new investment projects in Viet Nam, the diplomat said, asking for support from Vietnamese government leaders in the issue. 

Deputy PM Hue emphasized that the Vietnamese Party and Government always care for and pay special attention to removing arising problems to facilitate partnership between Viet Nam and Japan, as the two economies are complementary to each other.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues aiming to further enhance the Viet Nam-Japan extensive strategic partnership.
