Japan-funded agreement extended

VGP – Standing Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng on October 27 agreed with the extension of an agreement granted with non-refundable aid by Japan, which prepares the Project "Development of urban water supplies in Việt Nam, phase 2" using loans from the World Bank (WB), to May 2, 2010.

The project requires a total investment capital of US $135 million, in which WB finances US $112.64 million. It is part of the the Vietnamese Government’s orientations to develop urban water supplies to 2020. Accordingly, new water supply systems will be built in 100 towns in North and Central Việt Nam to provide clean water to over 1 million people.
