International donors have greatly supported Việt Nam’ economic development

Addressing the banquet, Deputy PM, FM Phạm Gia Khiêm expressed his gratitude to ambassadors, chargé d’affairs, chief representatives and members of diplomatic corps as well as international organizations for their good sentiments and vigorous supports to Việt Nam over the last time.

The Deputy PM made an emphasis on the Government’s leading tasks in 2009 to curb economic recession, maintain sustainable growth and ensure social security.

Việt Nam determines to strongly implement a comprehensive diplomatic policy on the basis of three pillars - politics, economics and culture – as well as continue to play a proactive and responsible role in maintaining peace, stability and international cooperation.

In the year of “Culture-oriented diplomacy” 2009, Deputy PM, FM Khiêm hoped that cultural exchange programs between Việt Nam and its partners in all continents will help to boost up the friendship, mutual understanding and cultural interference among nations.

Appreciating the Vietnamese Government’s endeavor to rein in inflation and stabilize macro-economy amid the global financial turmoil and economic downturn, Ambassador Thomas Ferrari, head of the diplomatic corps in Việt Nam, underscored that the international community will make every effort to advocate the Vietnamese Government in fulfilling its set targets.

He stressed the desire to cement and deepen good relations with Việt Nam through peaceful cooperation for mutual benefits.
