During the visit of President Lennart Bage, Việt Nam and IFAD signed an agreement on establishing the IFAD representative office in Việt Nam, an US $35 million agreement on funding "the Business Development Program for the Poor in the Countryside of Bến Tre and Cao Bằng Provinces" and a non-refundable aid of US $300,000 for the "Rural Development Strategy".
