The Deputy PM emphasized
that, in 2010, it is very essential to highlight the nation’s strengths and
promote its international integration in order to fulfill the general targets set
in the socio-economic development plan approved by the 12th NA at
its 6th sitting session.
He noted that in this year
of rehabilitation of “economic health”, “we cannot succeed without consensus."
At the conference, representatives
of many localities showed their agreement to the Government’s draft resolution
on major solutions to realize the socio-economic development plan 2010.
They also proposed new
approaches which are based on their local actualities, focusing on poverty
alleviation, investment, regional linkages, and labor cooperation.
According to some
delegates, the Government should provide more preferential loans for expanding
labor-intensive industries, such as footwear and garment, and assist coastal
provinces to build dyke systems in response to climate change and sea level
rise.
