Health ministry considers first human trials of COVID-19 vaccine

VGP – The Ministry of Health is considering authorization of phase 1 human trials of COVID-19 vaccine in November.

The vaccine, developed by Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, is one of the four vaccines produced by Vietnamese companies, said the ministry.

In the first stage, the Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology planned to test the vaccine on 60 people.

Other three candidate vaccines are being researched and produced by Polyvac and the Institute of Vaccines and Medical Biologicals (IVAC), Vaccine and Biological Production No.1 (VABIOTECH), and Center for Research and Production of Vaccines and Biologicals (POLYVAC).

Viet Nam has gone 62 days without a single community transmission case of COVID-19.

As of 6:05 pm on Monday, the country recorded 1,202 COVID-19 patients, including 1,069 recoveries and 35 fatalities, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam./.
