HCMC greets 65 new foreign-invested projects

VGP - In the first quarter of the year, Hồ Chí Minh City has licensed another 65 foreign-invested projects with the total registered capital of US $497 million.

There are 16 joint-ventures worth of US $393.7 million; 49 wholly foreign-owned projects valued at US $101.1 million, and one US $2.1 million joint business contract.

Industrial sector attracts four projects, construction nine ones, real estate 14 and consulting services 32.

The Republic of Korea tops the list of foreign investors with 14 projects worth of US $100.8 million. It is followed by Singapore with 13 projects (US $32.5 million), Japan with seven projects (US $1.5 million); Hong Kong three ones (US $10.5 million); British Virgin Island two (US $301.6 million) and the Isle of Man one (US $7.5 million).

In the same period, 19 projects in the city have been added with US $18.6 million.

To date there have been 3,239 valid projects with a total investment of nearly US $26.4 billion.
