All the suspected cases were sent to concentrated quarantine sites after being first tested positive for the virus, according to Dr. Nguyen Tan Binh, Head of the city’s Center for Disease Control.

The Center is tracking down individuals who came in contact with the aforesaid cases while several residential areas have been placed under lockdown, Binh added.

Earlier in the morning, HCMC reported four new community infection patients who are employees at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport, making it the latest COVID-19 cluster in Viet Nam.

Since the emergence of the third wave of community transmissions on January 27, the country reported 446 patients, including the above 24 suspected cases, in 12 cities and provinces nationwide.

Thanks to drastic efforts in contract tracing and isolation, COVID-19 hotspots in Hai Duong and Quang Ninh have been controlled well./.
