Competent forces remove barriers to end 28-day lockdown on Ha Loi commune |
During the lockdown period, 12 checkpoints were set up around the commune for 24-hour control to prevent around 11,000 residents from leaving the commune from April 8-May 5.
The lockdown is regarded as a prompt and necessary measure to contain further transmission of COVID-19 after a 47-year old man residing in the commune was confirmed positive for the virus (patient 243).
The commune's patient tally rose to 13, of whom 3 have recovered, according to the Ministry of Health.
As of early May 6, Viet Nam has confirmed 271 COVID-19 infection cases, of whom 232 have been cleared of the virus.
The country has reported zero new community transmission case of COVID-19 for the past 20 days./.
