Ha Noi: Export turnover hits over US$ 1.3 billion in May

VGP – Export turnover was estimated at US$ 1,310 million in May, representing a month-on-month growth of 10.1% and a year-on-year decline of 9%, the Ha Noi Statistics Office reported.

Some exports gained higher turnovers namely garments and textiles (up 21.2%); ceramics (up 25.8%); transport vehicles and spare parts (up 33.3%); telephones and spare parts (up 67.2%). Meanwhile, other exports experienced sharp turnover declines including agricultural produce, (down 33.1%); footwear and leather products (down 47%); and petrol (down 48.1%). 

In the first five months, total export turnover touched US$ 5.85 billion, up 6.8% against the same period last year. 

In May, import turnover was projected at US$ 2.82 billion, representing a month-on-month growth of 3.3% and a year-on-year decline of 2.6%. 

Some imports experienced high import revenues including computers, electronics, and spare parts (up 42.4%); transport vehicles and spare parts (up 63.4%); household utensils and spare parts (up 8.7%). 

In the January-May period, import revenue hit US$ 12.9 billion, up 3.6% against the same period last year./.
