The organizer New Open World (NOW) will announce 77 sites receiving the highest number of votes in the second phase on July 9.

All nominees, 260 in total, are classified in seven groups: Group A for extensive natural landscapes; Group B for islands; Group C for mountains and volcanoes; Group D for caves, stone mountains and valleys; Group E for forests, national parks, and natural reserves; Group F for lakes, rivers, and waterfalls; Group G for sea landscapes and beaches.

Twenty-one official candidates will be selected by the organizer on July 21 for the next round of voting.

Thanks to special support of both domestic and international tourists, Hạ Long Bay has recorded the success.

In the time to come, Việt Nam’s Steering Board for Voting for Hạ Long Bay plans to encourage overseas Vietnamese and foreigners to continue supporting the stunning Bay.

In the first phase of the campaign (July 2007-December 2008), Việt Nam nominated three famous tourist sites including Hạ Long Bay, Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park, and Mount Fansipan.

The vote for New 7 Wonders of Nature will be concluded in the summer of 2011.
