At a reception, Deputy PM Minh said Viet Nam attaches great importance to developing ties with African friends, including the Republic of Guinea.

Minh touched upon specific measures to beef up cooperation between the two countries in such areas as agriculture, telecommunications, education and health care, transportation, mining and oil and gas, and facilitate people-to-people and business exchanges.

In turn, Mamadi Toure affirmed that Guinea treasures ties with Viet Nam, saying he wishes that the bilateral cooperation would be expanded via the Party and National Assembly channels and people-to-people exchanges.

Political trust should serve as the foundation for economic links between Viet Nam and Guinea, he said.

Both sides agreed to deepen the bilateral friendship, elevate their two-way trade which is currently standing at nearly US$160 million, and encourage more Vietnamese businesses to invest in the African nation.
