GSO releases latest tourist figures

VGP – The number of foreign visitors to Viet Nam in February reached 756,000, up 7.9% against the previous month, according to the General Statistics Office.

As many as 610,834 visitors travelled to Viet Nam by air, accounting for 80.8% of the total and up 8.7%.

The number of Finish visitors saw the highest growth of 59.2%, followed by the Republic of Korea up 55.1%, New Zealand up 44.4% and Spain up 31.7%.

A total number of 12.5 million domestic tourists were recorded in the first two months of 2015, including 6.2 million staying travelers.

The tourism sector gained 67,798 billion in revenues in the first two months this year, or an increase of 6.6% against 2014.
