Gov’t vows to ensure business equity

Deputy PM Dung acknowledged and praised the Japanese investor’s operation in Viet Nam especially in Vung Ang 2 thermo-power plant project.

The project has a designed capacity of 1200 MW (2x600 MW). As scheduled, the first turbine will operate in 2021. The second one will begin operation in 2022. So far, the project has concluded negotiating process. However, disagreements  still remain, requiring relevant sides to negotiate more for solutions.

Hence, Mr. Dung suggested related sides conduct negotiations to early implement the project and harmonize interests of the State, people, and investors.

The Deputy PM also noticed the importance of safeguarding the environment and technology to be used.

The Government, said Mr. Dung, will create favorable ways for investors to apply modern and environmentally friendly technology.

He also promised to task the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Electricity of Viet Nam to speed up the negotiating progress with investors.

In reply, Mr. Yoshinori Katayama treasured the Vietnamese Government's efforts to extricate the difficulties and speed up the project.

The guest executive also promised to attach more attention to implementing the project on schedule./.
