Gov’t provides relief aid for flood victims

VGP – The Government chief recently decided to provide aid and food for 11 provinces to surmount consequences of natural disasters.

The Ministry of Finance will advance VND 335 billion from the State budget 2010 and put aside 8,600 tons of rice from the national reserves for the flood-hit provinces.

The aid will target to famine relief, social welfare, and infrastructure restoration in these areas.

The PM also instructed the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to keep a close watch on consequences of natural disasters and report to the Government.

Meanwhile, Chairmen of People’s Committees will be responsible for allocating the relief aid while spending local budgets and mobilizing other financial assistance to back residents to overcome the aftermaths of natural disasters./.
