Gov't officials lend helping hand to flood victims

VGP - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Deputies and staff have initially donated over VND320 million to support the victims of typhoon Wutip.

Earlier, PM Dung has asked ministries, agencies and localities to take measures to surmount Wutip consequences.

The typhoon claimed the lives of nine people, injured 199 others and left 3 missing.

It destroyed nearly 400 houses, blew off and damaged over 223,630 houses and 1,121 schools, offices, hospitals and public works.

The typhoon also wreaked serious havoc on agriculture, fishery, power and tele-communication systems and transportation.

The donation will last till October 10.
