Pham highlighted the significance of his official visit to Australia and conveyed the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to President of the Australian Senate Sue Lines to visit Viet Nam.

The ongoing visit to Australia represents Viet Nam's aspiration to cooperate with Australia to cement and deepen the bilateral relations and strengthen the close cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Australian Parliament, contributing to opening up new prospects for cooperation in the coming time, said Pham.

The Vietnamese Government leader expressed his gratitude to Australia for its valuable support for Viet Nam in the past times with specific projects, COVID-19 vaccines in the most difficult times, helping Viet Nam become one of the countries with the highest COVID-19 vaccine coverage in the world.

In reply, Australian Senate President Sue Lines hailed the elevation of the Viet Nam-Australia relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership during the visit.

The pair agreed to further strengthen people-to-people diplomacy, cooperate in climate change adaptation, and open direct flights to expand bilateral collaboration in education, training, and tourism.

They shared experience on issues of mutual concern such as gender equality, support for disadvantaged groups, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities.

Regarding parliamentary cooperation, Pham suggested the two legislatures continue to fully implement the cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese NA and the Australian Parliament signed on the occasion of the Vietnamese NA Chairman’s official visit to Australia in 2022.

He hoped that the Australian Parliament would continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to contribute to the development of Australia and the bilateral ties./.
