Gov’t braces for Typhoon Tembin

Earlier, PM Phuc issued a public telegraph to ask localities to prepare for the powerful storm. 

The Center for Hydrometeorology Forecast Central and the Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment were asked to keep a close watch on the storm development and report to localities and people. 

Localities were asked to evacuate people from vulnerable areas to safer place; ensure safety of offshores and vessels; early harvest crops. 

The Central Committee for Natural Disaster Control and Prevention was assigned to mobilize necessary forces to provide relief for people. 

Provinces namely Binh Thuan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang, and Ben Tre, and HCM City were asked to keep a close eye on the typhoon development  and prepare school closure. 

PM Phuc asked the Ministry of Information and Communications to direct mobile networks to send warming text messages on the powerful storm to subscribers. 

Mr. Phuc tasked the Border Military Forces to call on offshore vessels to seek shelters. 

Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung will lead a Government working delegation to inspect and direct disaster prevention and response work in Ca Mau province./.
