Gov’t attaches importance to science and technology development

VGP – The Vietnamese Government regards the development of education and training and science and technology as the top national policy, said PM Nguyen Tan Dung.

The Government chief made the statement at the closing ceremony of the 46th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) on July 28.

He affirmed that the Government also treasures science and technology talents.

PM Dung welcomed all scientists, professors and students from 77 countries and territories to the International Chemistry Olympiad held for the first time in Ha Noi.

The event created a chance to find talents and promote the development of chemistry, he said, adding that it is an honor for Viet Nam to host this event.

The PM hoped that the competitors will become excellent scientists, leaders and managers to make great contributions to their nations as well as global cooperation, peace, prosperity and happiness.

On this occasion, he highly valued the role of Chairman of the IChO’s Steering Committee Peter Wothers, Vietnamese agencies and Ha Noi to successfully organize the event.

Also at the closing ceremony, the organizers rewarded a total number of 28 gold,  63 silver and 92 bronze medals. /.
