Gov't appoints VN's TIFA Chairman

VNGOP – As reported, the PM on July 31 agreed in principle the contents of the Viêt Nam-US Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) and entrusted the Minister, Head of the Government Office to function as Việt Nam's Chairman of the TIFA Council in order to promote bilateral cooperation.

The Government Office on August 7 delivered an official notice that Minister, Head of the Government Office Nguyễn Xuân Phúc will be Việt Nam's TIFA Chairman. The country's TIFA Secretariat will consist of some senior officials from the ministries of Planning and Investment, Trade, Justice, Science and Technology, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, Finance, Foreign Affairs, and the State Bank of Việt Nam.
