Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement at a meeting with the VGCL in HaNoi on March 11.

Specifically, he asked for faster construction of houses and kindergartens in industrial zones and further favorable secure conditions for labourers, especially supporting seamen to continue their operations at sea in order to protect the national sovereignty.

Both sides should enhance collaboration in examining the implementation of policies related to laborers’ lives to identify shortcomings and have suitable supplements and amendments, PM Dung said.

He also urged the two sides to promote communication and education about laws and patriotism and implement effectively patriotic emulation movements.

At the meeting, the cooperation between the two agencies in 2013 was reviewed and a 2014 collaboration plan was devised.

Accordingly, the two sides will focus on building policies related directly to laborers, enhancing the  protection of their legitimate rights and interests and promoting emulation movements to serve the industrialization and modernization process in agriculture and rural development.

The two sides will also continue the coordination in information exchange and resolutions to pressing issues and difficulties related to laborers.

PM Dung and leaders of several relevant agencies studied and commented on the VGCL’s suggestions on the issuance of Government decrees and the PM’s decisions, the implementation of policies related to laborers and the support to the VGCL.
