FSO5 is dragged to the its position at the Bạch Hổ Field
According to a document recently signed by Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải, the Việt Nam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin) will be responsible for all possible negative impacts, resulted from dragging FSO5 to its location and operating its, on oil exploitation activities, the environment and safety.

The 258-m-long FSO5, 150,000 tons in weight, is the ever biggest mechanical project carried out in Việt Nam and will serve as the national on-sea oil cracking plant.

The building of FSO5 shows the latest breakthrough of Việt Nam’s national shipbuilding industry that helps the domestic mechanical industry develop rapidly.

As planned, FSO5 will be dragged to the Bạch Hổ Field and fixed there with high-endurance anchor cables. The anchor system will ensure a 100-year-old permanent operation for FSO5.
