France assists Đà Lạt improve environment

VGP - The French Government pledged to offer 70% of a €150,000 fund under its Agenda 21 with the Vietnamese Government on sustainable development.

According to the Agenda 21, Đà Lạt City in the Central Highlands province of Lâm Đồng, will receive the fund to raise its local citizens' awareness of environment, classify wastes, reduce the use of nylon bags and save office stationary.

The project is now being popularized. Then, models of saving office stationary as well as classifying wastes will be piloted in some administrative agencies and households in Đà Lạt this year.

Đà Lạt City is located 4,920 ft above sea level in the southern part of the Central Highlands. The city is a popular tourist destination, highly appreciated for its temperate climate, beautiful sights such as waterfalls and lakes and its abundance of flowers and vegetables.
