For healthier jobs in electronics sector

VGP – A project, aimed at improving quantity and quality of jobs through responsible labor practices in Viet Nam, was launched on October 9 in Ha Noi.

The ceremony to launch the project on more and better jobs through socially responsible labor practices in Viet Nam

The project, jointly organized by the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the International Labor Organization in Viet Nam, will be implemented from 2015-2017.

The project will encourage multi-national companies to make active contribution to the national socio-economic development by establishing a risky map on working conditions at businesses in electronics sector.

At the national level, the project will help design and launch effectively strategies on sustainable economic development, job creation for poor people, improvement of labor management.

The project will be carried out in the North for the first year and expanded to other provinces in the region in the next two years.

According to the report of the VCCI, Viet Nam earned US$36.2 billion from exporting electronics products in 2014. The realization of the project is expected to facilitate multi-national companies to promote social responsibility activities and the quality of employment in Viet Nam.
